Romans 2 Quick Thought

God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. Romans 2

God’s just payment plan may seem a bit intimidating to you; it does to me.  The idea of a perfect God looking at me, a sinner.  Frightening!  But it would be far worse if it was a surprise.

There is a type of success that can come from worldliness.  Absorbing others and things into yourself like food for your own joy or happiness.  But the call of a Christ follower is to sacrifice for God and others.  Thankfully, these contradicting systems are temporary.

A day is coming when God will set the world right.  When you will be repaid according to what you have done.  Can you imagine what glory, honor and immortality, given from the God that established the cosmos, will be like?

Thought: Don’t feel like you have to measure up to the external expectation of friends, co-workers or family?  You have already been accepted because of Jesus Christ.  This means you don’t need additional attention or acceptance.  You are free to live your life for the sake of God’s glory and the benefit of others.  He is my rock, my fortress and my salvation.  This is the great call of the Brethren of the Feast.

11 One thing God has spoken,
    two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,
12and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
    according to what they have done.”                                                                               Psalm 62
