Saturday Prayer – Romans 5

I hope you feel much more comfortable with this amazing book.  And I hope it has impacted your lives in new and amazing ways.  Spending 20 minutes a day reading the scripture and in prayer is unique.  Don’t forget how different you are.  Most of the people around you do not think about the purpose of their lives, why they live and wake up, who they are.  But you do those things everyday and you will be better for it.  Let Paul’s letter and the truths within change the way you love your families, speak to your co-workers and pray for your church.

Try praying on your knees today as you visualize standing before the throne of mercy as an enemy of the most high God..  What you do impacts the way you think.  Give it a shot.

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5

Our Father

You are the one on the throne, the Creator of all things.  The one with the power to bring life and death.  And I am your enemy.  I am your creation but I chose to exalt myself as God.  I have made myself an idol.

An enemy is detested.

An enemy is plotted against.

An enemy is hated and eliminated.

And yet I am loved.

Yet I am helped.

Yet I have hope and peace.

While I was an enemy you worked for my good.  I have nothing to offer you.  As I approach your throne. But I have Jesus.

Instead of wrath, instead of what I deserve, you gave me grace.

What can I offer you for such a gift?  All I have is myself.  So, I give you me.  All that I am.

Help me empty myself of the values and motives that made me your enemy, immerse me in Christ.  In doing so, make me a distinct work of your hand.  Now I am truly myself because of you.  Give me the strength to do all that you ask.

You are a good.  Thank you for Jesus.  Thank you for your love.  In Jesus magnificent name,

AMEN
