5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. If we live according to the flesh we cannot please God. The mind governed by the flesh is death. With that in mind, if we honestly look at our lives are we saying, “I am living in trust and humility in submission to the Spirit” or “I am living a life in opposition to God by my own terms answering only to myself”.
What can you say today?
Here are some questions to think about?
Do you find selfish desires developing in your chest that you constantly have to kill? Are you motivated to serve others for their benefit and not yours? Are your decisions others focused? God focused?
Or,
Do you find yourself justifying your decisions? Are YOU defining what is right and wrong? Are you self focused in your decision making? Is your root motivation self love?
Take 10 minutes today to think about these questions. And then respond with prayer.
