Saturday Prayer – Authorities – Romans 13

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Romans 13:1

In a world in the midst of political confusion and weirdness it is comforting to know that God is in charge.  In fact, I am a citizen of heaven.  I already, in one sense, live under God’s rule and in God’s kingdom.  My time here is spent in exile.  I am a stranger.  But I am called to pray for my rulers.  To seek peace and justice for my people.

The world seems to be colliding with political disaster every day, but it is thwarted by God.  He is working in and through evil to bring good.  And it is coming soon.  Respect what order God is establishing through chaos.  It is coming in the clouds and will bring eternal life to those who know him.  God bless!

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.     Romans 13:10

You are the king.  I will respect the work you are accomplishing through the mess that we are.  I will give to the authorities what they ask and understand that my circumstances are more than the decision of a president or king, but the workings of God as he establishes his forever kingdom.  Forgive me for my unbelief.  Thinking that the people of this world could do anything to change your plans.  I trust you know matter what the circumstances look like.  Thank you.  In Jesus powerful name.
